Galco Leather dual magzine holder is very very tight?

Up until now I've been using Blackhawk plastic magazine holders. I finally found, in stock, a Galco Leather dual magazine holder for my single stack P239 .357 sig magazines.

Brand new, it's so tight I couldn't begin to get a loaded magazine into it. I've loosened the retention and with a concerning amount of force have managed to jam two unloaded magazines into it.

I've verified the model number and it is correct. I guess I just need to give it time to stretch? Is this typical of leather magazine holders?

    Thanks!

Wrap the mags in wax paper, wax out, and insert. Leave overnight. Repeat if necessary. If needed again, two layers of wax paper, repeat if necessary.

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
