    Mitch Rosen Transverse

Here is a well-made but expensive holster that meets the specification, the Mitch Rosen Transverse:

    Also Del Fatti SLP-TL

I forgot that Del Fatti also makes this type of holster for a revolver in the SLP-TL designation:

    Cross draw

Fist makes a couple of crossdraws. One is a driving to crossdraw, which I own for a Kahr, and I really like. The other is a strong side/crossdraw, which has three slots. Here is the link.www.fist-inc.com

    Sights? What are those?

Well you can go two ways: 1..a three slot or dedicated CD pancake and this will keep it a little tighter to the body than #2 and 2.. the belt style or askins avenger style like pictured above...
Snoop around and see what you like....go from there.

686, I know you're looking for crossdraw, but I wanted to share another near-crossdraw option, the lightweight shoulder rig from K.L. Null Holsters....it's the SMZ model.

I've got a friend that carries his 642 in it when driving a lot and loves it. http://www.klnullholsters.com/

I hope you find this info useful...good luck.

I have seen the Del Fatti for the 642 and it is a downright excellent holster.
Classic Del Fatti workmanship which is never less than excellent.
It looks pretty similar to the Rosen so I'm guessing they would be about equal concerning functionality.
The Del Fatti stays open very nicely due to the extra reinforcing leather at the location of the holster opening.
That's a nice added feature on the Del Fatti.

    686,
Atttached photo is my HCD706 Crossdraw holster made for a Taurus 617.
The S&W 642 design is very similar in overall size/shape. When I locate the 642 photo I'll post it. Hope this helps for now.
