    Need An Open Carry Holster

Buying a Glock 23c for new open carry gun.

With my old XDM I had a Blackhawk Serpa and it worked great. However this time around I'm considering leather.

Probably should get something with a thumb break to make it harder for someone to grab my pistol.

Really anymore the only time I open carry is on the road. So sitting comfort is important! Hence why I did like concealing when I'm driving. And working on the road I definitely put some miles in.

The problem I had with the Serpa is it was so bulky that there's no way to pull a shirt over it and conceal it if need be.

I'm looking at a Galco Silhouette or Fletch.

If I get a thumb break can I still use the Glock CT grip?

    Any ideas?

It's very important from a personal tactical standpoint to have effective retention on an open carry rig.

You owe it to yourself and those around to to keep control of your weapon at all times.

I don't open carry, but I support your right to, please be really smart about it.

Totally. I really liked the ease of the Serpa...

Yes I agree get something with active retention system to help prevent a gun grab.
The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.

If its mostly for driving try a crossdraw. I use one while sitting on a tractor, driving, riding a horse, or even an ATV. As a right hander it moves the gun away from the seat belt buckle, and makes the gun easy to draw. DR
