Well I can't comment on the SS but I have two McDaniel II's and I'm very happy with them. I carry a LW Commander in one and a SA Micro in the other. Both are stable, comfortable holsters. I especially like the adjustable rake, really helps fine tune the comfort.

The SSII is a great holster but the McDaniel is a much better design. The SS's two loops are too close together to serve any real purpose and they are right over the top of the holster which makes for a more bulky holster. The McDaniel places the loop behind the weapon which allows the holster to be thinner. It also pulls the butt of the gun in tight against the back to prevent printing. Like I said the SS is a good holster but IMO is outdated technology. The McDaniel is much closer in function to the Versa Max than the SS IMO.
Due in part to this site, I purchased my first Macdaniels II.
Ordering it by telephone took to long though. The gentleman is more than happy to pass the time with good conversation. They made up for it in delivery. Arrived 3 days later. Needs no break in, as the MS do. Ordered my second today.
Sparks makes a good product, but Andrews one me over.
