    Leather OWB Rec's for S&W 66-2 4"

Hey ya'll, I haven't been around here for awhile. Picking up my very first wheel gun tomorrow, and she's a beauty. Don't worry, obligatory pics will be posted as soon as I rescue her from the sad, dark safe in which she's been confined for the last 25+ years!

I'm looking for some nice leather (prefer w/ thumb break) for open carry. What are ya'lls favorites for carrying your 4" K frames? Mass produced or custom, it doesn't matter. As long as quality of construction is there, I'm open to suggestions. Bonus points for gun/holster porn

That's beautiful work in that pic, Easy 8! I've been looking at the Milt Sparks PMK. Anyone have an opinion on that particular model. I think I'd like something that rides low, to keep that butt out of my ribs. I'm open to any other suggestions anyone has for lower riding holsters. Keep 'em coming folks! Thanks!

Bianchi's Model 3S, still in production since the 1970s, would be hard to improve upon for the wheelgun (if I do say so myself). No less an identity than Mas Ayoob was consulted in its design, and the thumbreak added from his feedback:

The pic's an auto, but the revolver version was developed to place the bulky cylinder in that "sweet spot" at your waist.

Mr. Nichols, I was so hoping you'd chime in with your suggestion! I saw that model at my LGS (they don't have it in stock for wheel guns, though). From your past knowledge you've shared with us, I knew to look for a holster that rides that cylinder at the proper height. I hadn't considered an IWB, but I'm sure it's doable for me, since I IWB my 4" auto loader on a daily basis with no problem. Hmm, this might be a CC gun for me, not just OC...Sorry XD9, you may have to share me with another, lol!

I see Bianchi makes it for up to a 3" K-frame. I wonder if it's open enough at the muzzle end to accommodate my 4"?

EVERYone calls me Red, you should, too :)

We (now they) used to make it for the 4", and yet the 3" will also fit:

Ok, Red it shall be, then, lol! Thing is, I've got the 4", so I'm not sure if putting a too big gun in a too short holster would be ideal? I see I can get the Bianchi 7 or 111 in 4" currently: 41dHpTyQgcL._SY445_.jpg41ZG1ujGgNL._SY445_.jpg

Perhaps one of these would fit my need while seeking out a custom maker for something really special.
