    Professional looking man-bag recommendations

I've been carrying a maxpedition Fatboy around for the last 3 years while I've been in law school. I will be graduating this fall and moving out into the job market. I'm addicted to my man-bag but I don't think that the Fatboy will present the professional image that I would like.

I've spent alot of time browsing google: images and ebags.com but I've only come up with 3 or 4 possibilities, most of which are larger than my Fatboy.

The choices don't need to be capable of concealed carry although it wouldn't hurt. My fatboy has never really worked for CCW. The mag-bag is primarily for my other necessary gear.

Perhaps a laptop bag might look more professional than a man purse?
Sorry, couldn't resist a little teasing.
Seriously though, the laptop bags look nice and ought to hold lots of stuff, while maintaining a professional image.

Just get a girlfriend. That way you get a purse and someone to carry it.

Rocky's post is the best option out there IMHO. I have a leather one that is made for CCW, I thinks its made by Roma. Generally speaking, a gun in a bag is a bad idea for CCW.

Depending on what style of kilt you wear, one of these could be just what you're looking for:

    Hi Mr_Dove,

Did you check out the Victorinox Mono Gear Bag, the Vertical Organizer, or the Messenger on ebags?

Tumi should have some smaller bags.

How about one of those leather military map bags?

I took a Dell Laptop accessory bag & had belt loops sewn in for my open\concealed carry holster. With the zipper opened on the top side it's fairly easy to just slip my hand in and pull my pistol or revolver out. My usual carry is a S&W CS45 with it.

This link should show pics of it.

I carry my man bag with me at all times and use a holster for my gun. I don't want my gun any where near my man bag in case of accident.

Mine is a knockoff of a man-n-bag, looks pretty much the same to me ???

I also have a new DELL laptop bag from a dumpster of all places, the man purse (+pistol & magazines), cleaning kit and ammo all fit in the laptop bag. Last time we went out in a group to shoot I received some good feedback on the whole kit. They thought it was a pretty slick setup.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for or not. I was the VP of a computer company in New Orleans, LA in the 90s and used this as my everything bag. There were times when I carried a laptop, so this worked perfectly for that. There were other times when I just needed to carry books of papers and this handled that job as well. I used it as my carry-on when flying and could fit an inordinate amount of items in it. It has been unused for the past several years since I am not doing the kind of work where I need it. It did get used in April. Again it was my carry on when my wife and I took a trip to California and Washington. Even though I could not carry a firearm on the plane the old bag held all sorts of surprises. See my postings in this thread for more info April Trip.

If this looks like it might fit the bill for you let me know, I would be willing to let it go for a reasonable price. If it is won't work for you then good luck on your search.

Got to thinking about this thread...I do own a man bag, but I can't tell you were it is in my house. I never use it; I don't know why I even have it.

Just what does a man carry in his man bag anyway?

I have two or three messenger bags I purchased at the Gap on sale for about $10 and one larger messenger bag I got at Hot Topic. They are big and hold all of my manly things...like a 35mm SLR and flash (maybe extra lens), PDA, extra magazine, Sony PSP or MiniDisc, reading materials, etc.
