Not sure what you want to spend but for a J frame I like the looks of this The High Ride - American Holster Company | American Holster Company
It is pricy but looks vey well built to me.

I'd go up to $60 or so. I'm hoping there is someone who has one and likes it. I'll check out the The High Ride. Thanks.

I have a Safariland high ride w/ thumb break for my snub Police Service Six. It is a great holster very well made and is very comfortable. I'm sure they make one for a J frame.

Luke 22:36,38 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

You definitely need to check out Fist Holsters, K2 High Ride. Kydex, ultra wide stance, high ride. Virtually disappears under a t-shirt for OWB carry. I am ordering one for my P938 but have one for my P229. Outstanding quality holster with a great high and tight fit.

    Kydex: PER-SEC modular holster. Services
I have one for a Shield with no Cant that I wear high on the belt and in front of the hip. Very comfortable, conceals well, and easy to sit down.

    Good luck with your choice.

Do check out Simply Rugged. Just got my latest one yesterday for a 3" j frame. It'll do OWB strong side, cross draw and IWB. Hard to beat.
