New owner of a Sig P238

Hi everyone, I just purchased my first handgun, a Sig p238 zombie edition and I'm looking for some advice on holsters.

I've considered both an iwb and ankle holster and I'm thinking the ankle will be more comfortable for long wear, but would love advice on both. Mostly I will only be carrying on person on the weekends while usually it usually will reside in my vehicle during work days.

I'd also love a recommendation on bed holsters (thinking between bed and headboard) if anyone has any experience with such.

Price range any where between $50-$125
Would really like a molded holster
Turn around time isn't a huge issue but I don't want to be waiting 12 weeks either.

Also, ok here's the girl moment, I'd like to be able to match it to the gun. Maybe just green stitching etc.

Carrying that small of a gun in a proper IWB holster would hardly be noticeable and a lot more accessible than an ankle holster (I prefer ankle carry only for a backup gun).

Sweet gun by the way, a 238 is on my short list.

That is a sweet piece. I have a P938 on my next to buy list.

Have you thought about pocket carry for your P238?

Foxx holsters make a few nice options, they also offer the choice of zombie green kydex!

I have one made by R. Grizzle. The "City Slicker". IWB, beautiful.
I bought the "Tuckable" by Bullard, and although the quality is very good,
the attachment is on the bottom of the holster, and the whole deal tries to
turn upside down on the draw.
I also have a cheap pocket holster, Desantis, Nemesis, and it's.... meh.
Make sure the holster covers the trigger, and better yet, the safety too.

I like Remora IWB holsters. Very versatile, and very easy to remove/replace. They're not great for heavy guns - no clips, they just "stick" - but for a light gun like this, they would work great. And they're cheap.

+1 on the Remora... only $35 and Al usually ships from stock.

    I have that exactly gun.

I have a KHolster 2 clip IWB, kydex, I'm sure it's pretty typical of most all of these and it is fine. But you will have 2 clips showing.

I have a Remora #2 with full sweat shield. comfortable, invisible, well made inexpensive. The only issue I have is that I hit the head you really have to practice some management to keep it from falling. Plan on using a stall if at all possible, and even better sit down.

I have ANOTHER Remora #2 with full sweat shield that I've modified by putting one of the clips from my KHolster on the 'extra' material at the back of the holster. Used a rubber washer, a small bolt and a nyloc nut. Now I have a one clip Remora it it works great, same fit and comfort, but now toilet is a lot easier. One clip makes it much less obvious than a 2 clip, at least two me.

So I use the KHolster (bought another clip) when out and about if concealment is not so important (2 clips show), the 1 clip Remora most times except at work, and the no clip Remora when I'm at work without a coat (legal to carry but lots of social pressure from my liberal colleagues - I'm a college prof)

For my 238 i use the concealment solutions Black Mamba, Desantis Nemesis for pocket carry, and just lately the Galco belly band. I also occasionally use a bianchi minimalist as a belt holster.
The Desantis Nemisis does not cover the safety.

The Black mamba is the most comfortable.

The belly band the most concealable.

I, well now my wife has it, have a P238 and carry it IWB in a PJ Holster. Nobody would ever know I am carrying - it simply disappears. PJ Holster LLC | Simple, Practical, Affordable Holsters.. It takes a while to get them, but they are fantastic.

Ankle carry is a last resort, slower to access and less comfortable. IWB is the way to go, especially for a gun so small. Pocket carry could also be an option with the right holster.

If you need to draw the gun in a defensive situation you'd be much, much better off having it IWB/OWB than on your ankle!

You beat me to it. I highly recommend a hybrid IWB rig over an ankle rig any day of the week. IMO ankle carry is a sucky way to carry a gun and one of the way that makes accessing the gun the hardest.
