    Favorite J-Frame holster?

    Howdy.

New to the forum though I've been lurking for quite awhile. Picked up the first gun I plan to carry (S&W 442 Pro) and am looking at holster options.

I have a Remora on the way (too inexpensive not to try), but would like to see what else is out there for IWB carry. I'm partial to nice leather, but since I could only admire it when not carrying, I'm open to hybrids, etc.

I know that fit and comfort can vary by body type. I'm 6'0" and weigh 205. Will mostly likely carry at 3:30 strong side.

    Share your thoughts (and photos!).

    Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum! Glad you're here.

You might like this Triple K Secret Agent holster if you intend to carry the revolver as you suggest. It's a slide. I have one for the Detective Special and it works really well beneath a suit coat or other covering garment. Very well made and a good value for the money. I'm 6'3 and weigh 225 and the holster is comfortable for me yet holds the butt close to avoid tell-tale buldges. It's very stable on the belt and easily worn all day.

For IWB I use either a Remora, a Galco Royal Guard, or a Desantis Summer heat (with the metal clip relieved to stop cutting my shirts).

For OWB I use a Galco concealable belt holster.

I use this Alessi deep cover to carry my j frames AIWB,the talon clip works great with or without a belt, you can carry an airweight while wearing sweatpants.Carrying a snubnose j frame in the appendix position really allows it to disappear regardless of cover garment.

Can't recall the IWB holster I had with a S&W 442 Airweight .38sp, but for pocket-carry the holster was a Mitch Rosen Pocket Softy. Very comfortable, great conealment.

I pocket carry my 442 in a Mika.

When I get around to getting a 640, I'll get a Sparks PMK.

Thanks for the quick responses! Gives me many options to consider.

Easy8 -- I never get tired of seeing that Hayes Leather OWB holster. Awesome ... :)

Mods: I apparently posted this thread in the wrong sub-forum so feel free to move it.

    Thanks!

I have a nice Side Guard Minimalist AIWB for my 640, but most of the time I carry my 638 in Mika pocket holster. It is a great holster and worth considering.

The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.
