IMO, it comes down to this: The more concealable the pistol, the less readily accessible it becomes. Of course, that's a rule of thumb - I'm sure there are exceptions. The trick is for you - subjectively - to determine at what point the pistol becomes too inaccessible for your needs, and then not go below that point in concealability.
My own feeling is that Pager Pals and the like can be eye-catching gagets, but that they are wholly unsuited if you are planning on carrying a defensive handgun for personal protection. If you're going to wear it in the office where you'll have plenty of warning before a postal nut gets to your desk, then sure. But for regular daily carry in the real world, no - not if you plan on being able to react quickly. Pocket carrying in a proper pocket holster provides about as much concealment and a LOT faster access.
Just my $.02 worth.

I have two ;wear at 3 oclock.Can't image wearing it on the front with my gut! I since grow up and they gone to the holster junk pile.You always are looking for the better holster.Anything is a step up to
a pager pal.

......as a doc, I am still burdened with a pager....but...it can come in handy in helping to conceal "other stuff" !
