    J frame pocket holster

I currently have a Mika round cut and a Uncle Mike's #3 that I use when I carry my S&W Model 60 in my pocket. I find both of these work well in shorts and khaki's and I find the 60 my Sunday gun more and more. I also find my 60 being my yard work gun. Recently I have found my J frame shooting has drastically improved and I feel comfortable carrying it a little more. That said. I find when I carry in blue jeans the butt of the grip seems to print. Currently using the Uncle Mike boot grip which I find I shoot better than the Houge Bantam and the Monogrip. I say seems to print because in reality I realize that folks are so caught up with themselves that printing is really something that only those look for notice. I also realize that I notice it more because I am looking down on than someone would looking straight on. I carry a whole heap of stuff in my pockets so having a full pocket doesnt bother me. I am in search of another holster. I am thinking maybe a Mike square cut. Simply because the square shape will appear to be a wallet or phone etc while being thin but not allowing the cylinder etc to print. I dont care if its leather or kydex or ? but I would prefer for it to hide the grip. What do you use? What do you suggest?

I have carried a 642 in my pocket for years. I use either a Mika Round Cut like you or a Desantis Nemesis, depending on how the pocket is cut.

On the other hand, I recently decided to give OWB a try with the little J Frame. I purchased a leather pancake holster, and I prefer it now to pocket carry. It disappears under a t-shirt. Give it a shot!

Desantis and Galco are two holsters I have used in the past and had great success with. A sample of their holsters are below (Triple K is the darker colored holster).Triple K Pocket Holster.jpgGalco Front Pocket Holster.jpg

You may want to look at a Remora with a full sweat shield. That should create a full square shape behind the pistol and help hide the grip printing through the fabric.

Blackhawk makes an affordable pocket holster with a good grip strip that is very helpful during the draw but I don't think it will outline the pistol completely.

Used a Mitch Rosen Pocket Softy holster for years, with a S&W 442 Airweight. Didn't cover the grip area, though. Several makers do make pocket holsters with front-facing panels that are either integrated or attach.

Here's a post I made some weeks ago: Some options for leather holsters with a front panel that helps to break up the line of small guns.

Although I love my Remora holsters and wear them a LOT IWB, I have found that they don't stick to the inside of the pocket like my Mika does. The Mika stays. The Remora can come out with the gun. Not so good.

RKBA builds a good holster. You already know about Bob Mika.

Other than Milt Sparks or Kramer, not sure what else I'd try for a pocket holster.

Pocket Packer Premium from Wild Bill's Concealment - about $50. Mine is about 12 or 13 years old now and gets carried a lot.

Something looks fishy and I think I can put my finger on it.

I have a Galco for my LCR, works nice, seems to keep a nice flat profile over the whole pocket.
