Anyone use this kind of pocket holster?

Saw the picture below on Facebook. I've never seen a pocket holster where the gun is sticking out of the pocket. Only where the gun is completely hidden. Anyone actually use something similar to what's pictured? Is it secure? Can you sit down?

So, it's a pocket holster for a gun that's too big for a pocket? I thought that's what belt holsters were for?

I see no retention in that holster at all. Unless they are hiding some kydex down in the pocket, not a good idea IMO.

Yeah, it didn't seem very practical. If you're going to do that with a larger pistol you should probably just try out AIWB.

I would seem that when you say down, it would fall out.

No pocket holster like that , but I am trying out a Alien holster today for the first time. It seems to be the same quality as the crossbred but it is half the price. Still not sure I like it though.

Those are Blackie Collins "Toters". I'd just go with a smaller gun and a real pocket holster or a regular holster on the belt.

Pocket carry a .38 or .357 that fits in the pocket. If I'm carrying the Glock or other non pocket pistol on belt usually paddle holster.

Almost appears like a modified Mexican carry, just saves it falling through

    Never seen one like that.

But from what I see in that photo I can't imagine it being either as comfortable or as secure as alternatives. Traditional IWB and OWB would ride differently, better matching the hip's bends at that point. Traditional pocket carry would be better protected from fouling by outside impacts (ie, hooking it on something). Plus, it's visible in a way that a higher-riding IWB (or in the pocket carry) wouldn't be. Guesses, here, but I'd be highly skeptical.

If you had to take the gun out and set it down, what would you do for a trigger guard? I can take my IWB (one clip) off with one hand and set it safely down.
There are much better and safer options to choose from...get a good holster.
