Do you prefer loops or steel clips IWB?

I've been carrying IWB for four years now, I've always used steel clips. All of us in the shop recently started using tuckable belt loops for testing and I've actually grown quite fond of them. What do you guys prefer on your IWB holsters?

I like leather/synthetic one way snaps, and solid kydex loops. I've never owned anything with steel clips.

I use Velcro and love the fact that it makes my tuckable disappear.

I've settled into steel j-clips for everything. They've never come loose and go on and off quickly without having to mess with my belt. I've yet to find a tuck-able holster that didn't look like I was tucking around a gun.

I don't deal much with tuckable, so I'll admit that for tuckable it might be a different game.

But for standard IWB, you can pretty much learn a lot about the holster quality by its attachment system. Loops are much more time consuming to create correctly, and much higher quality in the end. Clips are the quickie way out of doing good loops.

    Loops all the way.

I like the clips. I have found them easier to conceal under a t shirt, and also for the same reasons Whec stated.

I like the clips, lets me use different belts without worrying about fit.

I prefer metal clips, I would have said kydex because I could make my own design that way but since I got a company to build my style out of metal a while back I'm a bigger fan of those. Really the positive to kydex clips is that they are easier on the belt finish, they don't scratch nearly as much. Metal clips can tear up a belt depending on how they are built. What I prefer about my own style clips(and others like them) is that once they lock onto the belt there really isn't any way for them to come undone unless a clip fails(which I haven't seen), or the holster fails(which I haven't seen either). I've had snaps and loops for that matter both fail, I've had them come undone, I've had one way snaps get loose over time and need replacement. I've seen leather loops wear through from guys threading their belt rather than snapping the snaps over the belt. The sawing action actually wore right through 8oz. leather loops. That same guy isn't going to kill a good thick set of spring steel clips if they are made properly.

So my vote goes to clips, and they aren't perfect by any stretch but I do prefer them to loops.

I like the default kydex clips that Comp-Tac uses for the CTAC. Easy on/off but holds tight when drawing. They slide over the belt and hook underneath.

Leather loops, slightly larger than the belt width.
