My SHTF Gear ACE-1 IWB Holster

I have been studying IWB holsters since I bought my latest pistol last year. After a while I decided a hybrid was what I needed. Looking at all of the manufacturers, I kept coming back to holsters made by a rarely mentioned company called SHTF Gear. They seemed perfect:
    A. They made a holster for my less than super-popular pistol.
    B. They took great pains to build their holsters tough (Kevlar stitching!).
    C. All the reviews I could find were enthusiastically positive.
    D. They were reported to have good customer service.
    E. They didn 't make you wait weeks.
    F. They had a cool name.

Failing to find a reason to not try one, I ordered one from their site. I had it in under a week. Except for one change it turned out to be exactly what I wanted:
    1. My mid-size pistol at 4:00 simply disappears. I say this because my obnoxious wife, even when cuddling hasn't seen it and no one has visibly observed it - even my nosey gun friends.
    2. Not only is the pistol hard to see, it is hard to feel. There is no discomfort except a little when worn in a car.
    3. It places the pistol in a very quickly drawn location.
    4. With a small add-on, it is fast and easy to put on.

Thing that were wrong with it out of the box.
    1. It was hard to put on. The metal clips were -at least to me- hard to get into place. I never found an easy way to get it on.
    2. The metal clips were damaging my new BetterBelt pistol belt.
    3. Retention was not stellar.

The first two issues were fixed to my complete satisfaction with the purchase of leather-looking Kydex Locking Loops from SHTF Gear. Not only do these make putting the holster on easy but it stopped scuffing my belt! Also, this is silly but they make it look better.

With time and wearing in, the retention has improved. I am completely thrilled with this piece of equipment.

No affiliation, just a happy customer!

OK............... Do not own any products from them, but it seems OK.

I have several of their holsters, as well as the old mag carrier, and all of the new ones except for the HMC-4, and have also tried the original leather loops, the metal clips, the new loops, ... pretty much everything they offer. Needless to say i am a big fan of SHTF gear.

I recently purchased one their holsters for my Glock 27. I have been very happy with it thus far. Should have bought it sooner.
