    Sig P239 mag holders?

    Hi all,

I am looking for suggestions for a single magazine holder for a Sig P239 9mm. Prefer a clip on, IWB, and as thin as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Tucker Gunleather has what appears to be a fine IWB clip-on magazine carrier, for various configurations, that also seems to be adjustable so you can have it ride higher or lower in two configurations:

Thanks for that link, Nate. That's definitely an option.

I was actually thinking about a clip that you can clip right to your pants waistband (under your belt) so it doesn't show as much. While I probably wouldn't carry a hangun like that, I figure it would be ok for a magazine given the weight difference.

Here's one from Blade-Tech that's supposed to work just fine with or without a belt, but looks a little roomy if you're just trying to use it under the belt. http://www.blade-tech.com/Single-Mag...product_images

Of course, if your desire is to wear it IWB, specify your weak hand when ordering, so the mag can go bullets forward when you reverse it to put it IWB.

Then, of course, there's always this little guy from Don Hume: http://www.donhume.com/Products/Prod...?ProductID=122

I've been wearing a 715M holster for my P239 I received just the other day, and I can tell you - their clips are STRONG. Enough to keep the weapon from wobbling too much, so a magazine will be no problem. Might be a little bulky feeling, though.

Actually, Nate... now that I look at that more closely... I see that it's tuckable and can be ordered with a variety of belt attachments. That might just work. Thanks again.

    Any other suggestions?

I suppose I should consider pocket mag carriers as well.

Those were the style I was trying to find, but I was obviously very bad at it!

    Chris17404,
Whichever mag-style you decide to go with, make sure the manufacturer specifies that it is made specifically for the Sig P239.
The P239 has a distinct bump or bulge near the top front of the mag which is unique to it, so any mag pouch just made for a single-stack 9mm may or may not work.
The same holds true for HK P7M8 mags. The M8 mag has a cut-out extension in the front which catches the mag-release. A track has to be molded into the pouch specifically for the M8. If you use it in a regular single-stack 9mm pouch you'll be scraping leather and pulling out little leather fibers each time you draw the mag.
Many manufacturers do not mold their mag-pouches to a specific mag, but just use one mold for single-stack 9mm, one for double-stack 9mm, etc. and stamp them as such rather than to a specific make/model. This is perfectly fine unless you have one of the two pistols mentioned.

Thank you for that valuable information, Mr. Garrity. I'll definitely keep that in mind.
