Question for those who know:
Does a 229R (without accessories mounted, obviously) fit into the same leather as a 229? I think we're changing over within the next year, and want to know if I'll need a new holster.
Thanks.

No it will not. The rail adds too much.
Fatboy 97 is correct. Be sure to let whoever is making the holster know that your 229 has a rail.
gary will know the correct answer. he is the man when it comes to holsters.

Um, OK...my 229 has a rail!
I've been eyeing a Def Con for some time, but have held off on ordering due to the supposed changeover. I'll have to make 100% sure they're on the way before I make the order, natch... Saw a bunch when I was at HQ last month, so it's looking good.
Thanks for the info, fellas.
I had to send a holster back not too long ago because he forgot it was for a P229R. So they do not fit..
This suddenly dawned on me...
If I order a leather holster for a 229R, will a standard 229 still fit with decent retention and without messing up the molding??
Thanks...
