    Leather or Kydex Pancake style

Would one provide more concealment over the other or would they be so similar that the difference would be indiscernible? Pics and recommendations for leather options are (very) welcome. I normally wear a suit jacket/blazer but a shorter jacket on casual days so a high riding option is needed.

My 2 cents, I think leather is easier to conceal, it has give that kydex doesn't.

I have been using Desantis Speed Scabbard holsters, for any pistol I'm carrying concealed for years. Used them for over 30 years on the job, and off duty as well. Carry a 1911 Kimber or a full size GLOCK (17 & 22) in these every time I leave the house. Might be something better out there, but for my money, Desantis is the ticket. Snugs up tight, with a good quality gun belt, and there's no strap, snap, etc to fool with on the draw. Great holster IMO.

BTW, they are leather. Forgot that. :)

I've tried both over the years, but I always go back to leather. In fact, I just got my second Standard High Rise in the mail today from Tauris Holsters, L.L.C. - Custom Leather Mike makes what I feel are the finest, most comfortable holsters I've ever owned. I got my first one about 8 years ago from him. Just like back then, I got this one in less than three weeks.

Funny, I just ordered a holster from Hays Holsters for my full sized 1911.
I'm VERY old school about this. Steel, wood and LEATHER!

I have both, but end up wearing kydex most of the time.

If I am just looking for stable carry and strong retention I tend to go with kydex. But if concealment is what I'm looking for I choose a leather holster. IMO rigidity is the enemy of concealment.

Glock or M&P FS or 9c. I normally use a Comptac Minotaur for the M&P platform and the G19 fits fine. Wanting to go to OWB for more comfort.

Leather, quality leather, is always my choice.
But for a quick fix (while waiting for leather) take a look at the glock combat holster (made by glock), it's cheap but actually works quite well.

Simply Rugged Cuda... I have one, and it will hide my Glock 21 under a t-shirt... I am 6'6" with wide shoulders and a narrow waist, so YMMV... It's leather,BTW, and the quality and service from Rob are top notch.
