Any reason not to carry a snubby OWB under a shirt instead of IWB?

I've been rocking my SHTF gear IWB holster lately with my one and only gun, the Ruger LCR. This is my first year carrying, and I realized this week that not only does it conceal well under a sport coat with shirt tucked in, but is just fine with an untucked shirt, too. I'm 5'7", 150 lbs, carry at 9 o'clock (8 and 7 o'clock print like crazy when I sit down), in Levi's 501 jeans that are cut a little high for modern standards. Being high up on my hip, the gun leans into me and blends in pretty well.

I'm stating to get tired of wearing the same pair of jeans every time I carry, and I wonder how much harder it is to conceal OWB under an untucked shirt (or sport coat) to expand my wardrobe. How do y'all manage concealing snubbies (or small pistols) OWB compared to IWB?

I carry a 5" 1911 or 4" revolver OWB @ 3:00 with one or two reloads @ 9:00 with an un-tucked button up shirt, polo shirt, sweater, or sweat shirt.
I carry a gun, because a Cop is too heavy.

I carry my SP101 OWB at 3:00-3:30 about 75% of the time. As you said, it disappears under a loose-fitting t-shirt, and surprisingly it's the most comfortable CC configuration I own, even with the additional weight. I carry it in a Simply Rugged silver dollar pancake holster.

I carry OWB exclusively. Wear untucked shirts that don't fit snuggly.

I do it all the time, either my SP101 snubby or my full sized 1911.

Can't see a good reason why not. I can carry a Colt Government that way so your snub ought to be no sweat.

I once carried my Desert Eagle 50 AE and two spare magazines OWB all day at work around senior LEO and nobody noticed. I did it because a LEO friend bet me it couldn't be done. They were surprised when I showed them as I was leaving work.

I've been doing it for many years and I'm sure that many others on this forum do it as well. Good luck!

The secret is called a pancake holster. And with a small revolver it should be very easy. Slide it back some to just behind the hip.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.

No reason not to as long as it is comfortable and doesn't print too much. But, it all depends on your holster and even more importantly your physique. What works for one person won't work for another and vice versa.

I am 5'11" 165 and have no problem concealing my G23 or my SP101 OWB with only a tshirt. For me, the trick is to wear shirts +1 size.

I carry OWB under a slightly oversize un-tucked Cotton T-Shirt every day in Spring, Summer, and Fall. Go for it.

I do not even own an IWB holster.

You'll want a high quality holster that pulls your firearm in close. Some "forward rake" to the holstered firearm moves the gun butt up as VS out.

    Darker colored T-Shirts work best.

Probably the best holster out there for OWB Snubbie carry would be the Milt Sparks PMK.

I carry my Ruger LCR OWB as does my Dad. No issues at all and I don't wear shirts that are unnecessarily loose
