    My Pacemaker ...

I have an implanted ICD just below my collar bone on my left shoulder. When I wear a shoulder holster the strap that comes over my left shoulder pushes on the upper left corner of the ICD. It does not take long, perhaps 30 minutes and it becomes so uncomfortable I have to take it off.

Does anyone know of a small pad that could/can be placed around the shoulder strap to ease the pressure on my ICD?

Does anyone know of a holster maker that takes things like ICDs into consideration in the design of their shoulder rigs?

    Thank you.

I don't know how permanant this might be but you might want to try something like one of those Gel inserts that can be placed in your shoe, cut it to fit and the adhesive on the back of the pad may hold it in place depending on how rough the back of the strap is.

Or, you may have to investigate another form of carry, Moveing the gun to your waistband I am sure would remove the discomfort to the area of your pacemaker.

    Just my $.02
    Thanks

    Just a thought

I'm sure that you've seen the commercials for that Temper (Tempur?) Pedic (sp???) Mattress that conforms to your body contours... ~ remember them?

If you contact them you can request a sample of their mattress material...that NASA Memory foam.

They will send you a small square of it which should be just enough material for you to experiment with it to cut yerself a pad for under your strap...that might work.

FWIW You may want to look into someone possibly making the part of the strap that goes over your ICD wider. Most holsters have a strap that is around 1/2 in wide, If you could somehow concoct something that would be maybe 1 1/2" wide at that point, it would make the contact point larger and then make the pressure spread out all over the modified area. Another possibility, tho uncomfortable. If the strap that goes over your shoulder is adjustable, adjust it to full length and then slip over your head so that the strap is resting on your right shoulder and the gun hangs under your left arm. Only other way is to switch where you carry. My $.07, inflation, you know.
A person is justified in the use of deadly force, if such person reasonably believes deadly force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to such person or a third person.
