    Made my first custom holster!

Well I finely did it. I have wanted a good OWB pancake holster for my P11 so I made one.

The Twincitiescarry.com group January get together a Tandy Leather in Bloomington MN and learned how to made our own holsters. The great folks a Tandy went through the basics, we traced out a pattern, transferred it to leather and cut some extra and wet formed it around the real guns wrapped in plastic.

I picked up a kit they had to get me started and laced it, trimmed it, finished the edges, hot water wet the gun to set the leather, let it dry, stained it and put a top coat on it.

I have used it about 5 times in the last week and a half. It holds well, rides where I want it and is what I wanted.

Here is some pics how it turned out with some unfinished and some finished product.

    The holster on!

Nice, nothing like doing it yourself to make you feel good.

Now I'm going to make a single mag holder and belt (Tandy has a complete kit) to match next.

Then it will be a new IWB for the P11 for Appendix carry.

I think this might get addicting!

very nice. i bought a holster (because it was left handed but way too long) and cut it down to fit. then sewed it up as well as added a mag pouch on the back. nothing like custom fit. yours looks professionally done, good stuff.

Great job. I'd love to learn how to do that

So when are you going to start taking orders?

Check out the Tandy Site http://www.tandyleather.com/ and find a local outlet. Go see them and tell them what your looking to do.

I picked up there hand stitching kit, 4 hole lacing punch, some additional leather, snaps/clips/rivets, dye and finish coat for @ 100 bucks. I will be able to make about 6 holsters so very good in the long run.

    Here is the stitching kit.
