I recently got one, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I got it primarily for when I'm hiking and backpacking. My usual IWB carry isn't really compatible with a fanny pack or internal frame pack, so I was looking for an alternative. I figured that a Safepacker was a bit more subtle than a tactical thigh holster.

Use it with my Camelback Mt biking or hiking. In hot weather I ware it on my belt. I have only had one person ask what it was. Told them it was my PDA (personal defense assistant), and accessory. My wife calls it a man purse.
Some times if I am just running out of the house I will hand carry it.
I have yet to try the seat belt option.

I'm just curious in what type of social setting you can wear that thing? In a rural setting it might work but I could never get away with it in the city....

not good for carrying your weapon
I have a few bags and I thought I'd like them for carry ......then I had a long talk with Mika while I was buying his pocket holster....20 year veteran of L.A.P.D. and a person who has carried that long and longer. He gave me some ideas to think about in a situation where I would need to get my gun out and .....well bags are out for me now. Like alot of people walk around with there hands in thier pockets and no one would pay any attenttion to that even a B.G. but i would have my hand on the handle of my J frame and ready to draw when he asked for my money, here it is fella! I still will have my man bag but gun in the pocket. Hey is that a Crissy Hyde and the Pretenders song? "Gun in pocket."

I have been kicking around ordering one myself. The only thing stopping me is the precise measurement issue. My concern is ordering it cut for IWB carry and not having enough adjustment for snug OWB carry. Have you found the sizing to be an issue?

The belt provides about 6 inches of adjustment for IWB/OWB (or a growing or shrinking belly), so carrying both ways with the same belt shouldn't be an issue.

I need to call and bug them to make some with velcro linings for V-clips ...
Heck, I could try just asking :-)

I think that's where I'm headed. I don't like the way it fits the gun anyway.

I regularly use it on my seatbelt. It secures the gun very well and the gun is very accessible in it.
I have worn it on my belt in Dallas and have never gotten any questions about or any funny looks. Having said that, I don't find it very comfortable for regular belt carry. Plus my teenage daughters and wife make fun of me for carrying a man purse. Of course some times I carry it that way just to annoy them!?
The Wilderness belt is great. It is my normal casual belt now.

The Wilderness Safepacker is about as good as it gets for hiking and backpacking. It easily attaches to the waist belt on my backpack and is very inconspicuous whether in the backcountry or while hiking more populated trails closer to home. Belts are good too. I've been using both for years.

When I got my belt I was told to get 2 inches larger than normal. That was for OWB. Measure your waist with the the IWB holster, and add 2.
