    Defender concealment holster?

I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried the defender concealment holster. I have a highnoon and I'm very happy with it but I was curious about this one.

    Belly band

The holster shown in the link is essentially a belly band. I have one of these, and while it is a great idea in theory, the problem I had when I tried it was the discomfort of having an elasticized strap around my middle. I suppose with determination one could become accustomed to it - some women wear girdles and support hose, which are probably similar in feel. But I just couldn't get comfortable with it on, and was constantly aware of it. It is also a little on the warm side in summer weather.

The device will also tend to slip downward, if your chest is larger in diameter than your waist. I suppose if you have a large waist it wouldn't do this.

I think each person would have to try one for awhile to see if he found it adequate for his own situation.

On September 11,2006 I ordered a custom holster from HBE Leather. On or about early February I sent a e-mail regarding delivery time. Got no response. Since it was projected to be delivered in early January I was inquiring as to projected delivery date. As of today I have received no information on this order. Order was paid in full in September 06, Please let me know if you have had any experience with this company.

    Thanks.

Back to belly bands...pogo nailed alot of what I was gonna say. Aside from the "you can never catch your breath" feeling....a sharp gun will continually dig into you and you really have no way of changing it..not even with an undershirt.

There are some better designs out there...but all of them Ive tried, Id much rather pocket carry. Im not slamming any specific holster design or maker. Just giving my own experience...

If it seems like it would work for you, then give it a try. You never know until then anyway.

    Shoot well and god bless

Actually I have used one for 10 years and I like them. Mine is made by a company called Conceal-it, but I think they are gone now, but there are quite a few copies out there. I must wear an undershirt between me and the holster. I don't have problem with movement, but I don't carry a full size pistol in it either, or do jumping jacks while wearing it. I don't wear it daily just when I need deep concealment and it does the job. Besides if you can stand it really tight, it makes you look skinnier, lol!!!
