Holster And Carry Suggestions For S&W N-Frame

I just aquired an older Model 57 with a 4" barrel. I want to carry it hiking and horseback riding. Can anyone suggest a maker who offers an OWB holster for a pistol this size?

Well....I can suggest more makers than I can even begin to type....honestly.
Just a couple of tips....this is the one rare time I would recommend a thumb break on a belt style holster for ya. Horses are not smooth riding beasts....anything to keep the gun in until you actually want to draw it would be beneficial.

Eric. You must ride horses. I have Paso Finos, a gaited breed that is versatile and very smooth riding. I don't care for thumb breaks either and was considering something like a leather hammer loop. Maybe we could discuss this off-line?

I have a few 57's and have belt holstered in Safariland and Galco. They still pull my pants low. Looking at the 357 model scandium framed titanium cylinder model 57 for an easier carry. 41 magnums rule. Will be looking for a custom holster in an easy on easy off paddle if I get the new gun.

This is one of the few times I will recommend a "Factory Built" holster.

For being around horses and stuff take a look at El Paso Saddlery and their Military Flap Holster. They make a nice half flap for a revolver. I have a 22-4, so I know what you are talking about when it comes to carrying that boat anchor.
