This is my wife's favorite holster so far. It looks good with the belt and I want to make a speed strip holder next to match.
I'm planning to make a left hand version of it to make a good backup holster for me.

I notice a lot of the holster makers with this design sort of round the tops of the tabs. I think it would look good on your version, too. Shape of the hammer guard is exactly what I'd like. You could probably sell a box of these.

I have found the shape is enough to protect, but not to much that it gets in the way of grip, drawing and re-holstering is assisted by it.

What weight leather did you use for this holster?

It is fairly light 5 to 6 oz. The next one will be doubled up along the edge would be the only change.

I'm planning to fix the finish if I can because the patten leather look is "toooo" shinny for my tastes. So, I'm going to buff the finish and put on a more mat finish. I'll post updated pics when done.

Nice work...it's a hobby with a real benefit...I'm not sure that I would have the patience to attempt the process...
