You can't go wrong with Lou Alessi's belt holsters
They are a work of art besides being the best leather concealment holsters available.

Posted this on another thread but - it is a Horseshoe Leather rig .. made in UK - but shown on the website - exact URL not to hand. Very quality rig, and I think pretty spendy - I was lucky to be virtually given it.
Here it has BHP in place, just because that gun fits nice - however, the full size A1 is equally at home. Still actually breaking this one in.
Of course - all told there is much to choose from out there.

There's so many choices it is hard to figure out what would work the best. I guess that's the downside of custom work you can't try it before you buy. The Horshoe Leather holster has some pretty good information on design elements of concealed carry holsters.

True, but if it doesn't work out, custom holsters tend to sell quick. I've picked up a Brommeland MaxCon V and a Sparks Watch Six(still gotta test them out)that way. The only OWB holster I have is a Wilson Combat Practical-in black sharkskin(if my shooting doesn't impress, thought my leather should). Concealable under a light garment like a parka, but it is comfortable.Originally Posted by Bumper
Forgot to mention, Gary Brommeland also has a DefCon OWB-I don't recall the number offhand-and it's one I've been giving serious consideration to.

Thanks, Scratchy. I better look back over Gary's website, I didn't know he made a belt holster.Originally Posted by scratchy wilson

Rusty Sherrick does very good work, I use his Rangemaster trim OWB for just about everything. Only other kind of holster I own besides a Sherrick rig is my Milt Sparks VM II, its my main carry rig because it has the least tendency to print my full size 1911 frame out my 8 o'clock position (Im 5'10, 155 lbs so I dont have much meat to help hide the gun...)
Thanks for all of the input. Upon recommendation of acparmed I decided to order an Andrew's Hybrid Saddle Style (strapless) holster from Andrew's Custom Leather. Though it normally takes 4-6 weeks to get one, I caught Sam at the right time; he had just finished one up for a Gun Show and I hijacked it en route.

You bring in another aspect for holster selection...strap or strapless. That's one I'm sure about.Originally Posted by Bumper
I like it without a strap for normal carry. I wouldn't mind having a strap on a holster I wore to the range or when we are out prospecting, but around town where I'm carrying for primarily defensive situations I prefer no strap. This holster has a screw that is adjustable to increase tension on the gun and decrease the chances it might get loose during a scuffle.Originally Posted by Prospector
On my Kydex, you can tighten the screw enough that you will pull the holster from your pants before it came out. That's what you hope happens to the BG if you ever encounter one in a shooting situation.![]()
