    Alternate IWB holstering

I have tried IWB for my Bersa ever since I got it. I hate having to try to find pants in a size or two larger just to fit the gun in. I already have a hard enough time finding pants that fit correctly without that headache. Then I suddenly got a bright idea. Why bother putting it IN my waistband, why not just get a bigger belt and hook it directly to the belt. See? Between the waistband and the belt. Sits in the same place, is more comfortable, holster still stays in place during draws and it still conceals just as easy with a t-shirt. Has anyone else tried this out?

I found the gun slide around a bit more than IWB

Many makers actually make a holster intended for just the application that you described. They are called Between the Belt holsters. Mitch Rosen makes one called "The Middleman", IIRC.

Yep...no worries. Like Gary stated alot of makers have already adopted this style of holster/gun carry. Alessi and DelFatti come to mind for the higher end makers. I believe other mid grade makers offer them also....desantis, triple K...etc.
Just make sure you are using a suitable holster and belt as it takes the pants out of the equation and any IWB holster worth its salt, is designed for that as retention criteria.

    Del Fatti uses this approach

If you go to the Del Fatti website and look at the photo gallery of his work, you will see quite a number of holsters using this approach, which he calls "BPB" for "between the pants and belt". Here is an example with a small Glock:

Also different pants have different belt loop spacing. Keep this in mind when buying new pants and you could find styles that will allow your holster to sit between two sets of loops. This can keep the holster from moving forward/backward in your favorite position.
    Be safe..

    Pogo2:

That particular holster is an ISP-SS with sewn loop. It's an inside the waistband type holster although alot of guys wear IWB holsters with fixed loops (sewn loop, slotted pad, screwed down straps) as BPBs. Here's a crappy photo of a left hand BPB for a P7M8. All the detailing is on the body side of the holster.

Hmmmm ... I think I'm gonna have to check these out. I wonder if UBG can come up with one? Will have to talk to him and see.

Matt, your stuff is very very nice. Thanks for jumping in on the thread.

A holster dedicated for IBP carry gonna work better than an IWB holster than you adapt to the carry position in my opinion.
