Question Brommeland Max-con V opinions please

Hi all, I need some input on my proposed holster selection. I have stated before on the forum that I have a sock drawer full of holsters that I don't use for one reason or another . I have seriously considered buying one of Gary's Max-Con V holsters, belts, and mag puuch. I have talked to him at length, and would like to do business with him,
As I am only willing to buy one more holster, I would like to know what you think of yours. my two issues with the holsters that I own already are:
    1. The pistol rides too high, feels topheavy.
    2. The grip sticks out away from my body, I'm
pretty skinny (gotta jump around in the shower to get wet) 5'11" and 145#.

I will be carrying my KimberUltra Carry II in it. Thanks in advance for the input!! Rex

Best IWB holster i own and i own many different custom holsters. The Max-Con V is just the best holster for comfort and concealment that i've yet to have. In fact, i just got another custom holster in the other day for one of my gun's and it is just so obvious the difference between them. You will never regret buying a Max-Con V but be prepared to wait for it.

I have 2 Max-Con V's and 1 Def-Con that i wear. One for my Ultra CDP and the Other for my commander size 1911's. I have another Mac-Con V and another Def-Con on the way for my new XD45c, it's been a very long wait but should be here in the next couple week's.

It's hard to beat Gary's Holster's. I own four (2 Max-Con V's and 2 Def-Con's) right now. I have a fifth on order (Def-Con). They are very good at concealing any size gun with the proper cover. I'm 5'7" and 145 lbs. and I can conceal a full size 1911 in either rig.

I'm not sure what Gary's lead time is at the moment. I know that he has had some problems with supplier's. It's probably best to talk to him and get an estimate.

I have two and like them both very much. However, as you have obviously discovered, holsters can be very individual things. What I and many others on the forum like may just not work for you. FWIW, I have holsters from Gary and Kevin at K&D and they all work very, very well as well as being great works in and of themselves.

I carry my LW Commander in a Max-Con V service grade holster. It's the only concealment holster I own for this pistol. It serves my needs and purposes exactly and I wear it every day. Don't need or want anything else.

I adhere to the "one gun/one holster" concept.

I wear my maxcon V everywhere at all times of the day. even if I'm working or relxing it's there and it is that comfortable. All of the reasons you listed are the reasons to get a maxcon V. It holds the gun in a tight to the body configuration. Good luck

You will be very happy with the Max-ConV. I carry a full size Glock 22 in mine and it is very comfortable.

I've got two MaxCon Vs for my SA Mil-Spec (Presentation Grade and Service Grade), both are excellent and I can conceal my 1911 under just a loose T-shirt. They're my all-time favorite holsters, bar none.

Ok.....I've said this before and at the risk of getting trashed.....the MaxCon V didn't work for me. I was carrying a Kimber Ultra Carry II, I am a slim guy (5'9"-165 pounds) and it felt uncomfortable. I use a Comp Tac Infidel now and am awaiting a CTAC. BTW, I sold the Kimber and carry a Glock 23 and it is more comfortable than the MCV.....ON ME!!!!!!

Either way...Gary is the man and I wholeheartedly recommend his stuff. he probably would have MADE the holster work for me had I asked him to. He's that type of guy.

I'm the guy who bought Whamonkey's gun and mag holster and I love them both! I carry my Kimber CDP Ultra with no problem at all, very comfortable.

Like others have said you may not like how it feels but you will never know till you get one. The quality is there you just have to see how it feels on you.

    flagflyfish,

Gary makes a great product, knows holsters and understands how & why they fit or don't, and is a really great guy to deal with. I am extremely pleased with the Max Con V and double mag pouch for my XD45. Gary even honored me by putting the picture, of my gun in his holster on his website. I have read where other folks are having trouble concealing the 4" XD45, with the MCV concealment is certainly not an issue. It is extremely comfortable, light and superbly made. Here is my rig from Brommeland.

    Thumbs up

Thanks for all of the advise! I will be calling Gary in the morning, I realize that the waiting period is about 24 weeks, but from everything that I heard , it's worth the wait!!
