That is a gorgeous holster! Does it stay open when the weapon is drawn like the Versa Max 2? I am "considering" a holster like this one because I DO NOT want to pay 100 bucks for a VM2 AND hafta wait 20-23 weeks (what they told me over the phone about an hour ago) for my holster to arrive.

If this one will stay open for me to re-holster, I would get one of these instead of the VM2.

Actually...I'll prolly wind up getting a Comp-Tac "Infidel" instead of a leather IWB holster anyway...you know...plastic gun/plastic holster. I mean, I like leather as much as the next guy, but let's face it...$100 and 6 months wait? Or $60 and 10 DAY wait?

    You do the math.

The grip is AGrips from Brooks Tactical...though I got mine on ebay for a song. It was almost criminal... LOVE 'EM. Unfortunately I haven't gotten to shoot yet with it on, but ooooh it's comfy.

Glock 'em down, one of my biggest concerns when ordering this was that the holster would stay open post-draw, and spent a while on the phone with Kevin talking about it. I ended up ok'ing his SOP for reinforcement and am very pleased to report that there are zero issues with it. reholstering one-handed is as easy as kydex. I'm sure my gun belt (only 1.25", gunners alley belt) helps--I don't have to keep it cinced super tight. I did have to wait about 12 weeks (I think) for this holster, but it's sweet.

12 weeks is better than 20-23 weeks! Plus, this holster is quite a bit cheaper than the VM2...right?

I looked at their website, and I coulda swore he made this holster with the loops also. Are the clips the only way he makes this holster? Are you happy with the clips over the loops? Do the clips go over the belt or on the waistband and the belt over the clips?

Clips go over the belt...and I like 'em. If I'm not mistaken The clips come from comp-tac, and can be (user) replaced by any of their other clip styles.

So basically, the Cochise is the leather version of the Comp-Tac C-T.A.C. right? Is there any steel inside the mouth of the Cochise? Does the leather overlap really keep the mouth open for re-holstering? Wow...that's hard to believe. Can you get that in shark, or beavertail or elephant? Not that I'm an "exotic" individual or anything...

    Yeah, basically.

No, no inserts. I had talked with Kevin about reinforcing with metal but he didn't end up wanting to go there. He's made so many of these holsters and none of his cutomers had ever complained. I'm here to tell ya--this thing stays open. It's very stiff.

    Wow...that's hard to believe.

I thought so too at first!

Yes, he does have some exotic offerings. Check out this lucky dog...

The snakeskin is kinda sexy, but a little TOO much for me. I was thinking something really thick and tuff...elephant or beavertail or something...I dunno...I can't decide between one of K&D's or UBG's. Then again, like I said, I'm kinda looking at a Comp-Tac too...

...I dunno...this is driving me nuts! I want some custom leather, but I want Kydex too...damn...I need to go lie down...

    Breath, dude, breath!!!

Here's your plan: Buy the kydex and order the K&D at the same time. Once the K&D arrives, if you don't like it, you won't have a problem selling it off and recouping every penny you paid (and he doesn't charge your card until he starts making it, roughly a week before you'll get it). There are a lot of K&D fans here. Someone might even pay you more for it, seeing as how they wouldn't have to wait...as long as it's not for some really obscure unpopular weapon. :)
