Go with the CTAC slide for the 1911 as it is made specifically with this multi-barrel application in mind.
This is a discussion on Two CompTac questions within the Defensive Carry Holsters & Carry Options forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; Will their 4 inch 1911 CTAC fit 3, 3 1/2 and 4in models like leather? Are all their mag holders belt loop models?...
Will their 4 inch 1911 CTAC fit 3, 3 1/2 and 4in models like leather?
Are all their mag holders belt loop models?
"If I was an extremist, our founding fathers would all be extremists," he said. "Without them, we wouldn't have our independence. We'd be a disarmed British system of feudal subjectivity."
When you go for the "slide" option your going to have part of the slide sticking out of the bottom, OWB it's not so bad, but for an IWB I'd not suggest the slide option especially for a blued gun, the sweat will be a pain.
Also the cold metal of a slide isn't something I like in my pants.
If you get a standard CTAC for a 4" it will accomodate the shorter models, the retention of the CTAC is mainly the kydex around the trigger guard.
Personally I like having a closed bottom on my IWB holsters to keep lint out of them.
Call Comp-Tac and talk to JD he'll help you out with what you want.
And judging from the product options for the mag carrier:
Make: FN S&W 1911 Kahr STI Colt Para Ordnance Walther Glock Sig Beretta Kel-Tec SV CZ Ruger Bersa H&K Springfield Browning Kimber Taurus
Model: 5.7 w/ square trigger guard ($0.00)
Belt Width: 1.25 inch 1.5 inch 1.75 inch
Side to be Carried: Right Left
Color: Black Red Woodland Camo (+$5.00)
It would appear that the mag carriers are belt mounted. Comp-Tac will do custom orders, if you want something else JD will accomodate you.
My CTAC made for the XD .45 Service 4" perfectly fits my XD 9mm Sub Compact 3" as well. My Infidel handles both sizes also. I would say yes but as jdlv4 stated... call them and they will answer questions and help you out. They ship quite fast as well from my experience.

Along with ComTac's new webpage, their mag holders now come with Tech-lok attachment for belts up to 1/4" thick. This is the same unit Blade-Tech uses, nifty, but not for reinforced leather belts.
