Comptac Revolver Holster
Hello all, 1st post here,
I am interested in getting a comptac belt holster for my 3" 396 (L frame) and a paddle for my 4" 329 (N frame). Has anyone out there purchased one of these? What was your experience? Retention is a consideration for me as these will be for open carry while hiking, hunting, etc. and a fall would be possible. I love my uncle mikes j frame kydex rig.
I recently purchased a leather holster from simplyrugged.com
for my S&W K frame model19. After viewing the web site I called
& talked to Rob the owner. He deals with mostly field holsters. He is located in Alaska and is very knowledgeable in field carry comfort --I suggest you give his web site a look. I Know you said Kadex, but
it should be worthwhile to give his site a look.
no one has a comptac revolver holster?
I do. It's a CTAC for a J frame.

You won't go wrong.
I didn't think Comp-Tac MADE a holster for a wheelie. How about one for a K frame snub (model 10)? Or a Colt Cobra/Detective snub?
I use a uncle mikes IWB for my 642. it works great with or without a belt and there cheap
according to the website they make owb holsters for virtually any S&W revolver.
They do make holsters for wheelies. Curiously, the make holsters for the J and N frame, but not the K.

I have an Uncle MIkes IWB holster for my 642 ( for 1 more week )and I guess to each their own, but as far as I'm concerned, its a piece of junk. It doesnt hold the gun in place, it can come out easily, and its just not comfortable. Whatever you do , get a custom holster to stay on the safety side of carrying.
