Concealed Carry Ideas
I was just wondering on a differant mode of carry now that the weather is changing. I carry a SA XD40, and wear a 5.11 vest for cover. Any ideas on a more casual mode of carry without looking so obvious?

What type of holster are you using now?
Are you just looking for ideas for different types of cover garments? A loose t-shirt can work. Or a button up shirt unbuttoned over a t-shirt.

The holster is made by Lindsey. I bought it at a local gun show. Just wondering on differant cover garments.

Generally shirts darker in color do a better job of concealing, and some sort of pattern helps too.
I can conceal my 1911 with some t-shirts, with others I can't.
Plaid or hawaiin short sleeved shirts work too, if they are loose they can be buttoned, or unbottoned over a shirt.
A vest can work if it is long enough.
Especially if the holster is a OWB, make sure that the shirt is long enough to still conceal the weapon when you will be moving, like if you have to lift your arms over your head.
Pretty much any type of shirt will work with the right holster as long as it isn't tight fitting.

Living in S. Calif., I typically wear just a collared button or polo shirt untucked. I usually carry 2 different guns depending on weather & needs.
Currently I have a Para LW LTC in a Brommeland. It needs a looser fitting shirt to conceal, usually a button shirt. My Kahr PM9 I pocket carry or appendix carry. I have a tuckable holster for it (UBG holsters), so it doesn't matter on the shirt really. I have found that I can wear a tighter fitting shirt appendix carrying than before. I also have Glock 19, but am experimenting with that as I really don't have a holster for it yet.

Weather permitting I use a XL Hawaiian shirt with VMII and Blade-Tech mag holder.
If its below 60-jacket over denim/polo shirt.

I usually carry my XD 40 Service in a C-TAC with an untucked shirt (5.11 or similar or Hawaiian).
I almost never carry it in tucked mode.

Right now I am carrying my Glock 27 in an Uncle Mikes Pocket holster. When I carry my Ruger SP101, I use a Desantis IWB holster that works great.

I'm in Florida, right now I'm getting ready to take my wife to the mall (hate that place), but...my Kimber Ultra CDP II is between a summer T (wife beater) and a colored T-shirt...
Can't see a thing, I'm 'cool and comfortable'...but well armed!
Stay armed...stay safe!

Lose the 5.11 vest, looks "gun-nutish". Even in 90* weather you can carry OWB or IWB with a light vest or a larger than your normal shirt. I personally like Old Navy, Gap, Acrom. Stay away anything gun related. Every guy you ever hear about that went berserk always wears those things. I rarely wear mine after the VA shootings happened. Conceal and look fashionable at the same time! That’s what I say!

It's definitely a regional thing. I have never seen anyone in NJ/NY wearing a 5.11 vest. IMO 5.11 vests rank right up there with fanny packs
Pocket carry with a J frame is a viable option.
