I work EMS in small community of 3500 people and we had a patient who wanted to die at home after long bout with cancer. Our EMS staff spent a lot of time with the family and dealing with the husband over his last month when he decided no more treatment, especially the morning he died last month. His daughter is also an ER nurse at the local hospital so we all know her very well.
Today they were having a yard sale at the home and one of his son's who is a FFL came down and had lots of gun stuff, accessories and some nice rifles he put in the sale.
After breakfast, both our ambulance crews went over there to look around and say Hi!
I picked up a new Blackhawk SERPA holster with the belt loop and paddle for my Glock 23 and asked him how much? He said "For you guys, $20!" I asked him how much for a new $30 Bianchi Accumold handcuff case and he said, "On the house!"
One of our EMT's on the other truck got a new in the box $120 "intrinsically safe for hazardous environments" Streamlight Survivor Flashlight with two chargers for $50 for use on his fire dept. job!
The family are also paying for a huge BBQ party at the pavilion at our local lake in August for all of the EMS staff and our families.
Sometimes it's nice to live in a small community.
If only my credit card wasn't maxed out. He offered me a Streamlight M6X Tac light w/laser for $200. They list for $499 in Galls.
All in all it was a good day today! I'm going to the range tomorrow to shoot my XD9sc, but now I'll have to try out the new SERPA holster for my Glock as well.
