    Talon Tactical OWB holsters

Anyone have any experience with Talon's OWB kydex?

My major concern is how close do they ride to the body. I carry my Model 65 in a FIST #9, but would like to have a kydex option. However, I do not want the holster to be offset from my waist any at all.

Also, how stable is a Talon? My FIST does not shift around at all.

I have one Talon Tactical OWB. I bought it on a lark, just to see how it compares to my normally favored brand. The one I got actually looks nicer than the one on the site. It is for my M&P. It rides about the same as a CT OWB, maybe not quite as stable, because it has no cut in the middle of the belt loop of the holster for me to put my belt loop in. I'm going to cut it some day...that's on my list of "stuff to do." It is very light, probably my "2nd favorite" brand of Kydex. I don't want to speak for the holster maker, but he might take it back if you didn't like it. He responded to E-mails quickly when I corresponded with him.

Don't want to veer off the thread here, but do you like your Fist #9 ? I have 2 ordered , one #9 and the other is the #12 (basic ).

Robere, the #9 is a well made, basic OWB pancake. It just does its job with no muss and no fuss.

In other words, a good buy!

    Will do. If Comp-Tac won't make me a CTAC for a 4" K frame, I'll give the R-4 a whirl.

I've known Mike Benedict, the owner of Talon Tactical, for roughly ten years. He's totally good to go and his products are excellent. He was the first four gun master in IDPA so the guy knows a few things about holsters and he's a good guy to boot.

I have known Mike for a few years and have used most of his holsters at one point in time to include the pocket holsters and they work pretty good.

David, thanks for the personal reference. That makes me a lot more at ease.

As far as kydex pocket holsters go, Talon's is as good as any but I'm not wild about hard shell pocket holsters as they seem to protrude more than soft, shapeless models. Obviously, it depends on your style of dress, body shaped, etc., but they are less comfortable also.
