Other than my Beretta 21a, I have never owned/carried a small or compact piece (Ruger KP90, Sig P220, Sig P226 have been my carries for the last 13 or so years) but I recently joined the subcompact club (with a real caliber, not .22 like the 21a!)
So here I am with my P250 Subcompact, 9mm in a High Noon Split Decision (a great price, and a pretty dang good holster at that). I am 5'9", 31" belt, and I don't like baggy clothes - so it is a trick for me to do much concealed (other than the 21a in a pocket holster )

(I'll try and get some pics with my camera, not my BlackBerry soon!)

I'm self employed so "shirt out" is normal for me. If I need to travel lighter for dress I carry a 642-1 in a pocket holster.

Very comfy, and a quick slip of the hand down my shirt gives me quick access to my gun. I am 5'7", about 180, and I carry a 357mag snubby You can find these at Home

note to self; keep your eyes on the gun, keep looking at the gun, just keep looking at the gun!!!!

Para P12. My favorite EDC. Traded a SIG to another member here a few years back. The ergos didn't work for me as I am a lefty.

Nice! I'm a fan of 1911 wide bodies... have a Springfield hi-cap .45 and an STI Edge in .40. Both of mine are a bit much for EDC though.

Why too much for EDC? I am not a big guy; 5'7" and about 170. I either carry this one like this or in a PagerPal every day without issue.

These are my 1911-base wide bodies:

san antone... it's not that I couldn't carry the full-size, wide-body/hi-cap 1911, but that it is larger and quite a bit heavier than I am comfortable carrying around most of the time. I can conceal it fairly easily, so that's not the issue.... just the weight and bulk is more than I prefer.

My usual EDC has shifted from Colt and Ed Brown bobtail Commanders to Glock 30, Glock 23, and Glock 26. The move to Glock is not because I don't love the 1911's... it's just that I prefer the greater capacity. Any will more than likely do the job quite well.

The Glock 30 is a dream .45 for defensive carry. 11 round capacity, very soft shooting, exceptionally accurate and reliable. It's my top choice in a "compact" .45 defensive pistol. Of course, I still cherish and appreciate my 1911's.
