Actually, I've gone down a water tower with an instructor belt without lining, it was rather uncomfortable, but it worked out fine. Far from a harness, but it worked in a pinch.

    That doesn't surprise me, really.

LoveLeather, it types faster than I do!

I've carried using my 5 stitch (unlined) W.I. belt with both a 5" 1911 and dual magpouch and/or a 642 J-frame with speedloader and Surefire 6P. Very solid support and extremely comfortable. Makes for a great "Buffet belt" when going out with the plan of over eating too.

I am waiting to receive my 5 stitch Instructors belt. Should not be too long and I will have an opinion to add also.

I have both a 5 stitch 1.5" model and 3 stitch 1.25" Frequent Flyer belt. They are both great, but for daily wear I've been using the 3 stitch model to carry up to a 5" 1911 in an IWB holster. I don't think you can go wrong with a Wilderness.

I prefer 1.5" as that width fits most pants loops and holster slots/straps. Most holster makers use 1.5" as standard unless they're specifically requested to use a different width.

Yep - link worked for me.

I own two 1 1/2" standard five stitch belts, they are my go-to's, best gun belt I've ever had wrapped around me.

FYI, my 1 3/4" WI belt is a little wider than 1 3/4"... So my next one will be a 1 1/2", so I can get it into pants other than my 5.11s.

    To qualify my statement:

I use a 1.25" Frequent Flyer belt. I found the polymer lined model to be much more suitable for gun carry than the 5-stitch model I started with.

I've got a 1.75 inch 5 stitch belt and it works great in my Wranglers & EMT pants with and without a CCW.
