    Dakota/Cochise sweat shields affect grip?

I've been doing a little searching around the forum but I haven't been able to find an answer to this: Does the sweat shield on the Cochise and Dakota Defenders affect your ability to get a firing grip on the gun from the draw? I carry a G19 in a CTAC, which doesn't affect my initial grip at all. At one point I had ordered a Tucker Heritage but returned it because of the sweat shield.

I currently have a Dakota on order...

Mine does not have one, so I can't really comment. Several of my other holsters DO have shields and they do not interfere. Give Kevin at K&D a call and discuss your concerns, he is easy to get along with.

I do not think that they have any effect at all. Here are some pictures of my Cochise Defender. I would not order a holster with out one.I love the holster!!

I have a CTAC and cochise defender for my glock 23 (and my new 19). The cochise defender has the sweat shield. Just as the CTAC has the kydex in the same area.

To me there is no difference in getting a good grip on the gun. The inside of the grip is going to be against your body. A thin sweatshield is not going to make a difference.

ALL my IWB holsters (24+) have a 'body protector', and they do not effect the draw of the weapon in any way.

My Dakota has not arrived yet (week 14) so I can't say about the KD, but the MS VMII and FIST #20 (dye stains undies) have shields and they do not interfere with the draw.

Have not been in SHTF moment (knocks on wood) but during dry fire practice no interference noted.
