Holster box? How to store your leather?

Has anyone come up with a good way of storing your leather? I have many holsters (~40 or so) and little room as well as a nagging wife who is a neat freak, so I keep most of my leather in a big tupperwear plastic container/tub. I really hate storing my leather like this and would like a more organized method of keeping my leather by pistol type. There is no more room left in my safe :(

    Any ideas?

It may be inconvenient, but you can get a longer plastic tub, that holds multiple containers and slide it under the bed (if there's room)

Your system sounds better than my current one! I have about three plastic shopping bags full - separating leather and plastic - and also some sho rigs hangin' on hooks!

I use most so little that it does the job - plus to set em out as you wish to, which would be nice - would I think just ask for space I ain't got! No useful suggestion to offer.

I have close to 40 holsters as well and came up with an idea. I'll take a picture to post tonight but basically one of those shoe holders that you hang behind the door. I got the one that stores 40 shoes (or 20 pairs) and the material is clear plastic. Perfect, in my opinion. When I'm ready to choose which holster (depending on mood and clothing), I just open the door and I have a clear view of all my holsters in order of pistols (I'm an organized freak, as you can tell). Hope this helps!

No clue I have three drawers full in one of my fireproof file cabinets. This did allow me to sort it via revolver , auto , and Duty/competition tho lol .

That's a tough one. It really depends on how much room the wife'll give you.

Seriously, I have ones I pretty much don't use (& typically sell eventually), in a large box with a handle on it (& it closes). The ones I typically use go in a small range bag on top of the safe, so I can get them quickly while grabbing the proper handgun for the holster.

Typically, I keep my K-T P-32 in a kydex pocket holster, because that's typically an anytime/BUG.

Buy a pistol to fit each holster. Then a big enough gun safe to store the pistols. Problem solved.

I'm no help. I started hanging some of mine on the bottom of my Direct TV reciever mounting bracket last week ;-)

I take great pride in my custom leather holsters. I have about 27 now. I keep the finally crafted leather pieces in special humidors of there own to maintain the exact enviornment/conditions nessesary in order for the leather to not only breath but maintain it's suppleness, feel and retain it's natural leather smell.

Here is what they reside in:

Yea, not really! I have mine piled in a drawer!

It depends on your climate-high humidity is not good for storing leather in plastic containers-IMHO.

I string mine up on a nylon cord and hang 'em in my closet, if your holster is closed bottom than string as you would w/a belt.

I liked that! That'd be a tough call, though...lets see, what goes in?
    Holsters, cigars, holsters, cigars...hmm?
Sorry, as much as I like my leather holsters, they play 2nd fiddle to my cigars!

We had a plastic storage unit, a frame with six clear plastic drawers (each about 6"x6"x12" deep) and I label one for each pistol and keep them separated that way. I put it on top of the gun safe so it's easy to switch carry guns, grab range holsters, etc.

Not exactly like this pic, but similar in design:

Check out Wal-Mart where they have the plastic storage stuff and you'll get some ideas.
