Do a search, you'll find that very few people (if any at all) recommend carrying anything small of the back. It's just too risky if you fall. The gun is going to go right into your spine. If it doesn't permanently disable you it will take you out of the immediate fight.
Personally, I carry about 4:00. It's slower to get to then right on the hip, but much easier to conceal.

I used to carry my Warthog in a Kydex SOB but then I got some nice leather and I carry about 4:00.
