Regarding reinforcement; I found this posted to one of the K&D threads:

the notable differences between the Dakota and Cochise are as follows:
The Cochise has a reinforced mouth to aid in one handed re holstering. The Dakota does not which minimizes the thickness*.

I have a MaxCon V and can tell you it is a magnificent holster. I am also waiting for a Dakota Defender to arrive. It should be here within the next 3-4 weeks. I have other holsters from K&D and tell you the they are also magnificent holsters. You can't go wrong with any of your choices. So the big question should be clips or snaps?

I have a Sparks EC for my Beretta Centurion and a VMII for my full-sized Berettas. I have two horsehide VMIIs on order for my PX4 and 9X series pistols. I ordered them in May, they should be here late September to early October. They are the exact design and have the exact design features I want so they are worth the wait to me.
The two Sparks I have now I bought used, but even so they seem like new. These are quality holsters and hold their value.

Mike 1 is right, order now for Christmas!

With leather straps and snaps the holster will sit at only the pre determind height and cant. With the clips on the Dakota Defender you can adjust the height and cant (angle the gun sits at). Opinions very on which is best. Personaly I feel there is no one best anything. Each of us has different wants and needs. Good luck with the choice.

Thanks all. I ordered a K&D Dakota Defender today for no particular reason vs. the others. They all sound great. Now to settle in for the wait...

    Thanks!
