i wear the expanding waist band style pants also cargo shorts with elastic waist band . this lets me go IWB with comfort. one thing everyone says is the right belt makes a diff . they are absolutely correct , but they neglect to tell you a longer belt also is needed . when i wear jeans i go OWB only, i might could go same size jeans IWB if it were SOB .

Personally I found that there was enough "give" in my jeans that I didn't have to up the size of my pants. But throw in a IWB mag holder or carry IWB with a tac light attached, and you run out of room real quick.

Ah, I just aim to lose a few pounds by the time my CPL gets here. Far cheaper than new pants.

Before buying new pants, see how it works with what you have in the closet. I find I'm okay with my standard size, but I don't wear them skin tight to begin with. Some of my snugger pants just won't do, so I pocket carry when using those. Depends on the cut & style. You can also take your rig discreetly into the fitting room and see how it works ( concealed of course )
