J Frame- No holster-pocket holster

Wearing straight leg, non-pleated dress slacks makes it harder to pocket carry (S&W 340PD) because of printing. I have tried Uncle Mikes and S&W SuperFly by Desantis pocket holsters but both were too bulky or rode too high with the handle exposed.

I went to my taylor and had her sew a 4" high by 3" wide pocket inside the right pants pocket on the left side closest to the leg. The 340PD now fits into that pocket, doesn't move around and the printing is 95% gone. Hope the suggestion is of some help.

You are learning to "Dress Around The Gun".

I have my pants cut to accommodate my blaster. Suit coats are tailored to also accomodate and have a "gun patch" sewn in. The support side pocket is reinforced for my 442 and the pants are cut to hide the ankle holster too.

It's a little more exspensive, but I really enjoy being well dressed and concealed. Men's Warehouse is really good about doing this sort of stuff.

Cool, good idea. I just started pocket carrying with a mika holster and it works great for shorts and jeans but I thought the same thing about dress pants and the bulk, I wear the same kind of pants for work everyday that you mention. This might be a good possibilty for me. Thanks for sharing!

Same thing a lot of the old timers I knew used to do with theirs, some even had leather pockets made and stitched to the rear or front ones, on most of the newer style pants make sure you have the seams and or the pocket itself reinforced.
