    adjusting the CTAC further

I have a CTAC holster for my kimber aegis that i wear at 4:30
I have it adjusted to full cant. I would like to have the cant a little bit more then what it is now and would also like the lower the entire thing a little so its more in my pants and less sticking out (which would work great given my short barrel).
Any ideas as to how to do this?
I thought about just getting a whole new 2 pieces of leather and poking holes in it like the one it came it but im not sure how well i could do that and where exactly to put them.

Have you tried switching the tabs around? There is a link somewhere, I will try to find it later.

I think this is the post that utarch00 is talking about. I just recieved a CTAC and am giving this mod a try. It does lower the holster, but I may still be looking for a bit more cant. I have not decided yet.
Here is the link: http://californiaccw.org/posts/list/793.page#9736 . It was posted by "choochboost" over on the M&P forums.

    Hope that helps, Ron

As was stated, you can flip the leather tabs over (for more cant just flip one side) also there is room on the clips to drill one more hole...i did both of these mods to mine.
if ya flip both tabs, IIRC, it lowers the whole holster.

Just drill an additional hole and use a countersink bit and you can match what the others holes are like easily.

This is mine. That is yours.

    Lets keep it that way.

Thanks Ront, that was the one I was talking about. I tried it and it will do what you are wanting. I would up going back to to original way though.

I did that as well, I am also adding a strip of leather (old belt works great) to the end of the forward tab to lower it just a tad bit more.

I have given some thought to making some completely different shaped pieces of leather. I have a nice piece of black leather that I may try this on. That way, I could give myself more cant.

Interesting. I suppose a call could also be made to CTAC for suggestions beyond this. But,. it looks fairly simple to experiment with, without really altering any original holster components.

I think you are correct sass20485. Like I said, I have the mod set up right now. I do like it although it sits the gun pretty low. For me, it interferes just a bit with the draw. I am going to experiment with leaving the front as is and lift the back a bit. This would get the handle of the gun just a bit higher.

I did exactly what you are wanting to do, for the same reasons.

See these photos for more information.

Nice job TG, looks good. You would certainly want the lip of the holster at least slightly above the belt level, to avoid interference with the draw and return to the holster. My Mtac sit just above the belt line.

I have tried all the mods. It appears to me that the further down in the pants - the greater the buldge. Now this may impress some if it shows in the right spot - but at 3, 4 or 5 O'clock it just does not work for me. I would have to wear my shirt untucked at all times - and have it longer at that just to cover that unexplainable buldge. I am utilizing a very thin Kel-Tec PF9 in the holster and it stood out like a sore thumb. I just went back to the belt clips set in the last hole and it works pretty well. I can tuck my shirt and nothing shows - except for the belt clips.

i switched the tabs around and put it at full cant at 3 to 3:30.
where before i was carrying at 4 or 5.
i like this setup much better. hurrah.
although i think i might switch to the normal clips (i have c clips)
the c clips work great for being harder to see, and they stay on fine.
my beef with them is how long it takes to get them on and off.

The new velcro clips from Comp-Tac are invisible, but you have to dedicate the belt and be sure of the position before you have the velcro sewed on to the inside of the belt. With a full firing grip, the CTAC interferred with my hand, but a bit if file work on the kydex solved that. The file also took care of unnecessary bulges and interference with the mag release on the 1911. The coaster trick looks perfect.
