    J Frame IWB Recomendation

I need some help finding a comfortable Iwb holster for my 442 for when I don't want to pocket carry. I would prefere leather, but would consider other options.

    My main requirements are

    - comfort
    - very stable
    - open top ( no thumb break )
    - preferable available ( don't want to wait 6 to 12 weeks or more )

    Thanks,
    Chris

Go to the Galco website Chris. Several there will work for your J frame. Good holsters, usually in stock and shipped promptly.

Take a look at this, Galco on closeout sale (there's one for a J frame)...

I see what looks like a Galco Scout here. I have a Scout for one of my guns. I think they work for a J frame as well. The Scout would be a good IWB choice that wouldn't break your bank.

What ever you look for...Id highly recommend an offset loop IWB....

Its the design that takes the chosen method of belt attachment away from the bulk of the gun ie the cylinder. It will make a much more comfy and in most cases, a more stable carry platform.

    Shoot well.....Eric

I've got the CompTac 2 o'clock - I got it about a week after placing the order. Its comfortable, secure, and fast. Cost about 40-50 bucks IIRC. Take a look if you're interested in something in Kydex.

Andrews MacDaniel is my choice and my next holster order. Off set loop and adjustable to boot.

Those look good but I'm wondering about the turnaround time. You see at my age it really matters.

I love my CTAC from Comptac. Quick delivery and conceals well even under a t-shirt. I am very happy with this rig. Kydex is quick and I love that comforting click to know my pistol is secured. Here is my S&W 337PD with laser grips.

Check High Noon Holsters. I use their Split Decision tuckable with my SP101. Tuckable can be used just for IWB if you don't need to tuck. They have a good selection of others.

I have a High Noon IWB Hide Away for my 442. I got it when it was on sale (think I paid $25 for it and had it by the end of the week). Good luck with your search. I’m sure you will get plenty of input here.

the clip draw belt clip is the way to go. i use one on my model 60. with the clip draw you can not see my gun under a t-shirt or any shirt with the shirt tail out. with the tail tucked all i have to do is to pull some small amount of shirt tail out to cover the butt. of all the holsters that i have used, the clip draw belt clip is the only way to go.

I have a nice Del Fatti clip on IWB but it doesn't fall into your 6-8 week wait...check out sideguard holsters...they make an off set clip IWB that could be just what you are looking for..mine doesn't have a re-inforced collar like the one pictured but I've heard this one can be had the same way if you want it even thinner...
