yeah, the trigger coverage on mine is very comparable to yours bacchus99. This was an issue I brought up with Kevin when I had a maverik defender and he was very willing to fix the problem. I doubt it would cause any problems, however it is cut a little lower than I would like like also. When comparing it to the Sparks VMII, the trigger coverage was a huge difference.

Can you post a pic of yours with the gun holstered and a good shot of the trigger area?

Here is my thread comparing the VMII to the dakota defender, I've taken a number of shots of the trigger area of the dakota (middle of thread). It was not quite as uncovered as yours though. Hope that helps

Looks the same as mine. Did you get Kevin to make it higher? Or did you just roll with it?

Not really sure what i'm going to do about it yet, I had a maverik defender for a p239 and it didnt cover the trigger when the hammer was down. I contacted Kevin and he said send it back and he will fix it, just recently sent it. He was very understanding about the whole situation. I'm probably just going to roll with it on the dakota though, I don't think there should be a problem, I would just prefer complete coverage for sure. Seems like the amount of trigger coverage really varies from holster to holster from K&D.

    bacchus99:

If you're uncomfortable with the coverage of the trigger guard area, please feel free to return the holster. We can issue a refund, no problem there.

    SIG239:

    PM sent.

Kevin...no way in heck am I giving you this baby back! It really is a fine holster. Just wish the trigger guard area went up just alittle higher. The trigger is fully covered when it is in the forward position and I have tried my best to get my finger in there and pull. I was not successful. I believe it will be ok. I'm gonna carry it for a couple weeks(wearing it now!) and see how it does. In a perfect world i'd want the leather higher but the trade off of waiting for a new one to be made ain't worth it!

Okay - no problem. Just want to make sure you're comfortable, in all respects, with carrying in the holster. Feel free to contact me if you change your mind.

How can you not love doing business with Kevin. Was just comparing your photos and the difference in detail is incredible the inside looks like its formed to the gun as well. I am realy looking forward to getting mine. Kevin is fitting my Dakota to accommodate the Tru Glo fiber optic sights and laserlyte laser I have added to my XD. In addition you can get any exotic trim and custom leather tooling you may want. Now that is a true custom leather work and done right.
