    Pocket carry question

I carry a Colt Lightweight Commander in a Blackhawk Serpa holster and a ParaOrdinance P-10 .45 in a Don Hume OWB. I want to get a S&W J Frame for jacket pocket carry. I've heard over & over not to pocket carry without a holster. The pocket holsters I've seen all seem to be designed for pants pockets. I want to pocket carry in stadium jackets, leather jackets, etc. I don't want to sew velcro holster retainers in all my jacket pockets..... what are my options??

Get the pocket holsters designed for the " round pockets " and you will be fine , tho you may want one with the " thumb brace " across the spine to help kick it loose from the pistol .

Just what others said. Check out Mika pocket holsters w/ round cut. I carry my revolver at times in my jacket/coat pocket in a Kramer pocket holster. It also works just fine.

I carry a j frame(642)if I carry in my pants pocket(which I usually do)I use a Desantis Nemesis, but if I carry in a vest or jacket,I go w/out a holster.I just make sure there's nothing else in that pocket.I'm satisfied that the trigger is heavy enough that there won't be a AD.
But as others have said, they do make round type holsters.
Sometimes I pocket carry a PT111 and also use a Nemesis..or if in coat ,nothing, but have the safety on.

Talk to the folks who make the pocket holsters and they'll tell you what works. For folks who make their living from leather I've been pleasantly surprised when they have occasionally referred to another maker if they don't feel they make what fills your needs. Very professional folks with very few exceptions. The first ones I'd call would be K&D Holsters, Pocket Concealment Systems and Andrews Leather. If one of them can't give you the right answers there are many more!

A kydex holster might be a good option for you too. Most have a lip you can push with your thumb to get it to release.

My S&W642 in Mika pocket holster (round bottom) works great in pants or jacket. However, I always carry W/Out holster in the jacket pocket. I can have my hand on the weapon w/o alerting anyone, I can shoot through the jacket, if need be, w/o the extra step of removing weapon from holster & Pocket - very important @ 15 feet of less. I am not an expert, but this seems right to me.

When I carry my 360 sc, it rides in a Safariland pocket holster. I've found it works well in a variety of pockets.
