    Mitch Rosen Holsters

I am enlisting everyone's help once again. I bought a grade A H&K P7 a few months back, and I love it. The trigger is great, it is deadly accurate, and it is possibly the sexiest gun I own. The problem is, its hard to find a good holster for it. I think I have settled on the Mitch Rosen ARG-Plus. I definitely want something designed to compensate for the butt heavy design of the gun, and it seems that this is the only one that does that. The thing about Mitch Rosen Holsters is... they are really REALLY expensive. The slimline version of the ARG-Plus (the one I want) costs $205 according to the website and that would be the most I've ever paid for leather. Just wondering if its worth it, and if those who own them are happy with them. Also, in the pic, it looks as if the ARG-Plus has a loop that holds it to the belt. Is this the only thing that attaches it? And anyone who has one, I would really appreciate your input.

    Thanks all

When I use to carry a P7M8 I used a Rosen ARG-Plus, but not the slimline version. I loved the holster and found it completely comfortable and very concealable. It was so comfortable that I never bothered getting an OWB holster for that gun. I liked the offset loop and felt like the holster was able to shift as needed. And putting the extra leather at the bottom was a great idea and essential to the comfort.

In fact, having that holster made me stop using Summer Special type IWB's, and I've tried to use the ARG styles whenever possible. It's only in the last few months, since joining this and other forums, that I've started looking at dual loop IWB's, but that's another story.

I don't know how much thinner the slimline could be or if it's worth the extra cost, but I'm sure that you'll be very happy with the ARG-Plus.

Congrats on getting yourself a P7. As you are finding out, you are going to love it. I've got a few P7 & M8's myself. IMHO, there is no better conceal carry pistol is existance. It is what I carry 95% of the time.
You are right in that the P7 design makes the pistol 'butt heavy' but I don't understand your reasoning in making the following statement in regards to the Rosen ARG.
    quote:
I definitely want something designed to compensate for the butt heavy design of the gun, and it seems that this is the only one that does that.

First off, I had an ARG for my P7 and wasn't overly impressed with it. Sold it. I'm sure some may like it but I wasn't one of those. I've got Del Fatti, Alessi and Milt Sparks holsters now and I prefer them all to the ARG. The Milt Sparks VM2 is probably one of the favorite holsters of P7 owners. All of these will be quite of a wait if ordered but if you keep your eyes open you might find one for sale, lots of luck. I believe there are other holsters with a better design for the 'top heavy' P7.
There are plenty of good makers of holsters, plenty are spoken of on this web site. Not all make holsters for the P7 and you will find more making holsters for the P7M8. I recommend a lotta o looking.

I own a bunch of Mitch's leather and alot of other makers holsters. Llike the old cliche' goes...You get what you pay for. I agree his prices are very high but his leather is IMHO the second best out there. Matt Del Fatti's leather is the only gear better than Mitch Rosen but he has a 2 year wait. I own 3 ARG's (one regular, two slimline) and I like them but I still can't get used to their position on my body because the ARG likes to be carried at around 4-5 oclock and I like my holsters more towards my hip. The slimline is nicer but I am not sure it is worth the additional costs. One of my ARG's has a snap making it easy on/off which helps. I would buy an ARG over a VM2. I find the VM2 much more bulky and heavy.

You might consider Black Hills Leather style BH26. Visually, it is very similar. The price is a LOT less, but I can't speak as to quality. It probably falls short, but it still, perhaps, well worth the savings. They are generally quicker to deliver and can do some custom features (sweat shield, etc). You could call them to confirm if they could make a holster for your particular pistol.

Looks like if I want a sweat shield, the ARG DL has a it. Here's what the product description says: "..... The ARG DL™ is a modification of the original ARG™........ Target shooters in the action disciplines will no doubt appreciate this as well as the leather extension upward at the rear of the holster to keep oversized safeties away from the body. "

Anyone here know what the current wait time is for Rosen?

Brownells sells the Rosen ARG for 1911s and some Glock models, if that helps.

I ordered from him about 3-4 months ago and was told 8 weeks on the wait. Tt arrived even sooner. yes Rosen leather is not cheap but it's top notch leather with reasonable delivery times

I'm wearing one of Mitch's Belts right now. I also have a holster from him for my PM9. I don't use the holster much, as I don't carry the PM9 very much.

I'm somewhat of a "snob" about leather and like good stuff. His work is very good and you do get what you pay for, and then some. I would not hesitate to order from him again.

I have a Rosen ARG for a Glock 19. Nice holster, but I'm not crazy about the way it lays. I like Comp-Tac better.

Let's just say that if you "can't wait" there might be an issue here...
