OWB Holster Question for those with Love Handles

I wear my CWL (Kimber or Kahr) in an OWB. I really like the Galco, DeSantis and other top notch leather rigs. All my rigs have thumb brakes.

I do have one issue I would really like to address.

Currently, in order to prevent the top of the gun from rubbing a raw spot on my baby soft skin, I must wear a tee shirt under my pull over shirt. I don’t like all that extra clothing and would prefer a holster that puts a thin layer of leather between me and that sharp grip.

Does anyone know of an OWB holster that has a leather barrier that covers the outline of the entire gun? I have seen this on several IWB rigs, but never an OWB rig.

If someone knows of a decent custom outfit that doesn’t have a 6 month backlog, I would be willing to talk to them about this.

    UBG Holsters.

He's currently stating a turnaround time of 3-5 weeks.

If what you see in the picture is similar to what you're looking for but not exactly, he'll probably be able to work with you to get the desired features you want.

I don't have any of his holsters, but I've heard nothing but good things about them and have had the oppurtunity to look at them up close and the work is good.

Don Hume Open Top Double 9 - model 721

I have a couple of these Don Hume model 721s, and they have a fairly large piece of leather extending up from the holster back that comes between you and the slide of the gun. I think you can see it in this picture:

From personal experience the portion of the holster you are referring to is called a "flab tab"!

I just want to know where to get some thumb brakes...I'm tired of using my feet!
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I call it a Side Guard

I have that problem and the leather protects your side from the sharp hammer, safeties and beaver tails.

The thumb brake part puts a limited number available to you.
