    Don Hume/SP101 & holster "conversion"

I'm thinking about buying a Don Hume 721 OT for my 2 1/4" Sp101 for OWB carry. I've also thought about getting a couple of clips and a strip of leather and setting it up so I can convert from OWB to IWB and back again.

Has anyone tried this with any OWB holster? Is the 721 OT stiff enough not to collapse if worn IWB so re-holstering is not a problem?

Training means learning the rules. Experience means learning the exceptions.

    No, it isn't.

I'll second that. Mine is hard to re-holster OWB, IWB would be difficult in my opinion.

Sounds like I might have to find another holster for this idea, though, due to lack of reinforcement around the top.

    Thanks, CP

As a simple tuckable IWB holster it does work, though you're right the 721OT isn't quite stiff enough to allow for easy reholstering. My viewpoint is that as a CCW holster for civilian use reholstering isn't a huge concern. This setup worked great for me for the several months I used it before getting a Crossbreed SuperTuck. The idea to be able to switch from OWB to IWB just isn't that useful because once you have it set up one way you won't want to have to go through the trouble to switch it back.

Since I unholster/reholster every time I get in/out of the car, it is a big concern for me.

    Of course, YMMV.
