Shoulder rigs and the neck
I've got an Active Pro Gear deep concealment holster but I'm thinking of getting a good shoulder holster. Most of them I see seems to ride so close to the neck that it would show unless wearing a shirt with a tie or something. Can most shoulder holsters be worn where you can wear a regular button up shirt with the top button or two undone? Seems the straps would show. Even this shoulder holster I got ( which I like ), I have to make sure the straps stay away from my neck or someone will think I'm wearing a bra.

Check out the Null SKR. It is made for the J frames and can be had in white. I wear one under a uniform shirt and have no problems with it showing. See the next thread for further.

I think something like a Miami Classic is pretty good for strap hiding but I know with my Bianchi X-15, while pretty comfortable .. the 'over-the-back' strap top section does tend to ride up - and can show under some clothes.
More importantly I find that high sitting strap actually annoying and marginally uncomfortable at base of neck. The individual's build does too make a slight difference sometimes as to how the straps sit - even with careful adjustment.
I can still use the rig but not for me any more an all day deal.

My wife loves her Sam Andrews Monarch. Here are some pics:

In this one it appears to be riding high on her shoulders (low on her neck, so to speak), but usually the "Monarch" attachment point is lower.
Consider calling Sam and talking to him about your questions. He's a grand fella.

That looks like it is strangling her. This is the picture that really made me ask this question. It must be decieving. I can't imagine wearing a regular casual button up shirt and that not showing. Convince me more.

This is a picture from the back. In front the straps drop diagonally to the outside of her torso, away from her neck. With a T-Shirt the higher ride pictured might peek up over the collar in the back, especially if the collar was loose or stretched.
She, by the way, absolutely hates anything around the front of her neck - mock turtlenecks, turtlenecks, short necklaces....etc. With a vengence!
Here's a picture from the front:

No neck constriction at all.
