    K&D Dakota Defender

Today I receied my Dakota Defender from K&D Holsters.

What an amazing holster this is!! I saw it online and knew that i wanted it, after reading great reviews from this forum i decided to place an order, however i was a little disappointed about having to wait so long.

I called to place my order and Kevin's wife asked if i could call back the next day because they had one at the house that may be just what i was looking for. Well i called back the next day to find out that Kevin had previously made a dakota defender for a sig 239 by accident. This is exactly the holster i was going to order!! Well placed the order on Friday and got it today.

This holster is the best looking holster i have ever seen. the gun fits perfectly. not too tight but not too loose. the holster is comfortable and has lots of ways you can set it up.

The only problem i have found is that i can't find where to wear it so that it will be comfortable when i am sitting down or driving. any opinions?

Thanks Kevin for the great holster!!

This is my first post on this forum, i have been reading and really enjoy the forum!!

I have found that the best position for IWB carry is 8-830 (for us wrong sided people) which is 330-4 o' clock for righties.

Man, a nice custom in 3 days! What a great Christmas gift! Enjoy your new holster!

3:30 works best for me. Conceals well and doesn't push on anything while sitting.

Dakota is a nice holster. Very detailed and the adjustments are nice. I wonder if i order the new standard clips if i can get it to sit alittle lower. Hmmm...

What a stroke of luck. Excellent holster. I wear mine at 3:30 -4:00. You may have to wear it a bit and let it form to your body. I find mine to be so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it.

You got lucky !! IN stock for a custom holster RARELY happens. Try around 3:30 to 4:30 position and see how it feel. It will also take a bit of a breakin period to adjust to you.

You did indeed get lucky. I love Kevin's work and have two of his holsters. I would go nowhere else for a leather holster!! I have the Cochise Defender and I were it at about the 3:30 position also.

I'd have to agree you got lucky. And I would also add that Kevin's one of the most stand-up, honest, hard-working folks I know. I need to find out what vitamins this guy takes.

    Seriously.

    OP, lucky!

I ordered a Dakota for my XD a long time ago (forget the date) and Kevin charged my C.C back on Nov. 10th, and still nothing has arrived.

Seeing your pics. just makes me more anxious!

The only drawback is having to buy a size or two bigger pant's to fit an IWB holster, then they look like a loose bag on me, even though I lost a few lbs. I still have to buy bigger waist to fit the IWB holster's.

You went back nearly 4 years on this one;) Check the post date:)

That said Kevin isn't producing IWB rigs anymore, last I spoke to him he's focusing on pocket holsters and whatnot.

    Take care!

    Luke
